Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)
?? GREAT NEWS FOR THE GALENA VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY! ??
The Galena Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce that we have been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in the amount of:
?? $60,925.71 ??
This significant grant will allow us to make some much-needed improvements to the equipment our firefighters depend on every day.
?? WHAT THE GRANT WILL PROVIDE:
???? 7 Complete Sets of Structural Firefighting Gear
Replacing aging protective gear and ensuring our members have modern equipment to safely perform their duties.
?? 25 New Structural Firefighting Helmets
Replacing our outdated helmets and providing our firefighters with updated head protection.
?? New Turnout Gear Washer/Extractor
Replacing our aging gear washer with a new, purpose-built washer/extractor. Properly cleaning turnout gear is critical to removing cancer-causing contaminants and other hazardous toxins firefighters are exposed to during emergency operations.
???? A HUGE THANK YOU!
This grant would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our members who took the time to put together the application and make this opportunity a reality.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Ronald and Ashley at Fire Grants Expert for their guidance, assistance, and expertise throughout the grant process. Their help was greatly appreciated and instrumental in helping us secure this funding.
At the Galena Volunteer Fire Company, we are committed to making sure our firefighters have the equipment, training, and resources they need to safely protect our community.
This grant is not just an investment in equipment — it is an investment in the safety of our firefighters and the community we proudly serve.
?? THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support the Galena Volunteer Fire Company!
Your support helps us continue to answer the call. ????
